There's a very early attempt at "New Orleans" by The Dead on this '66 comp:

and dig this, it's followed by "Twist And Shout" which isn't too common a cover either for the Grateful Dead!

Didn't they do a version of "Hi-Heel Sneakers" somewhere along the way in that era?
